While most committees started of with mock debates, the security council abruptly dived into socio-political matters such as the terrorism problem in the horn of Africa. Every delegate got a turn at expressing their point of view regarding this controversial topic, each stating their country's implication. Just as expected, it quickly turned into a heated debate between the central powers.
More passive countries, like the people's republic of china and the republic of sudan suggested peaceful solutions regarding the matter at hand. These mainly suggested tackling the problem through anti-terrorism campaigns and improvements in the current economical and social situation of South Africa. Other more agressive countries, like the French republic and the United Kingdom of great Britain and Northern Ireland took a more direct approach, suggesting military involvement regardin the border and internal wars issues.
The federal republic of Germany and the kingdom of Saudi arabia also presented military solutions, as a result of these problems reflecting badly on their country's trading market.
Furthermore, the debate included attacks between the French repunlic, the United Kingdom of great Britain and the Russian federation, whi proceeded to throw the blame around.
The debate came to an end, with the conclusion that all countries had their faults and that fighting violence with violence would only lead to more problems.
